Clearly Shane is still bitter from losing in monopoly...But this is very true, as many executives who should've been jailed skated away with huge severance packages instead.
I agree with Eric, people that should have been prosecuted and jailed got away with their crimes and were able to keep their riches. If someone steals from a bank, they go to jail, but what about the bankers that steal from people as their profession?
I actually think the game really helped to solidify this point. Because as I got bolder and bolder with my corruption in the game, I realized that no one was there to stop me, so why should't I just take advantage of the system? Obviously the banks arent always to extreme and obvious about their actions but its still the general idea when there's a clear lack of regulation and enforcement.
In agreement with Erica, I believe that our class game did bring forth a reinforcement of this idea. Why should banks stop taking advantage of their power and using greed to steer their decisions if the government provides them with a free pass?
