Easter Vacation to Boost UK Economy

A fun little article breaking down the boost to the UK economy Easter may provide.  Apparently American parents aren't as fun as those from the UK (at least I couldn't find any data to back them up). Economics is fun!

  1. I think just about any vacation/holiday occasions will boost the GDP of a country. Event like winning the World Cup also increases the winning country's GDP if I remember it right...

  2. It's always surprising to realize how much single, unassuming events can impact a country's economy. I remember back in 2012 the UK was saying that the Olympic games contributed to .2% increase to overall GDP. That's a lot for about 2 weeks of actual events.

  3. I know businesses that are reliant upon an annual event to bring in profits for an entire year. The rest of the year, things are slower for them. Traveling is an activity that is becoming common in modern times, and providing people with a destination that they like can be a great way to make money.
