Senate approves Internet sales tax proposal

The Senate approved a long-anticipated Internet sales tax proposal on Monday, moving the legislation one step closer to enactment and paving the way for shoppers to pay sales tax on the majority of online purchases.

I know its not my week, but I figured you all should know.

  1. This is ridiculous. The internet sales will decrease a little bit but I don't think that there will be much of an effect overall just because of how easy and convenient it is to shop online.

  2. I think this is a good way to decrease our debt because people who are use to paying sales tax on things bought outside of the internet will eventually jus adjust to the online sales tax or find ways to pay less taxes by buying things from other computers in other places.

    1. I agree with Roy internet shopping is just too convenient and you can get savings you can't always get in stores.

  3. this will affect many online shoppers. I don't know if it will stop people from shopping online but it will definitely affect people's decisions on whether to shop online or in stores

  4. I think that people will still continue to pay online and stores will continue to sell. Yes, I think that there may be a decrease in overall online purchasing and selling, but there are so many people and companies willing to do business online that if its still going to bring a bouts revenue then sales will continue online. Does anyone know what government plans to do with this taxed money?
