Climate change is a serious issue facing the world. America has seemingly lacked in meaningful environmental policies to help slow the pace of global warming. The article below describes the fact that temperatures are already at record levels this year. Do you think presidential candidates are discussing climate change enough? Do you think a republican president would promote environmental policies?

In President Obama's inaugural address he specifically stated that the climate was going to be one of his priorities while in office. Last winter the Senate blocked a piece of legislation that was the centerpiece of Obama's plan. Not sure if the next president will have that much say...
ReplyDeleteI feel as though the democratic candidates aren't discussing it in depth because people believe there is a tacit understanding about the dangers of climate change, even though Sanders has been more vigorous in promoting quicker shifts to clean, renewable energy where as Clinton has been hesitant to denounce fracking in particular.
ReplyDeleteFor the republicans, Cruz believes climate change isn't "scientifically backed" and denounces it. Trump flip flopped on the stance just recently from calling it a Chinese ploy, but he still doesn't consider it a major problem. Kasich has recognized that global warming is a man-made issue, but has still deregulated industries that create heavy pollution. Honestly, it doesn't look good.
