Charles Koch supporting Clinton?

Here's an interesting article from Politico that discusses a recent interview with Charles Koch (here's a short clip from the interview) in which he suggests that Hillary Clinton could make a better candidate than any Republican candidate. Given the track record of Koch, I found this pretty interesting. Does this surprise any of you? Let me know what you guys think.

  1. I think it is very interesting because I thought the Koch brothers would be more likely to support Kasich. However, it does not surprise me that much that they would support Hillary. It is well known that Clinton depends on larger corporations and PACs for donations, therefore I am not shocked that some of her views align with those of the Kochs. I do find it interesting that when Charles Koch was asked about possibly supporting Hillary "We would have to believe her actions would have to be quite different than her rhetoric, let me put it that way,". That seems like a typical Koch quote where they want to assure that the candidate they spend a fortune on supporting will support their interests.

  2. I am confident that Hillary Clinton would do everything in her power to make sure that Wall Street stays unregulated and large corporations maintain their political influence. Bill Clinton was very clear that his administration was against Glass- Steagall and Hillary's platform gives no reason to believe her attitude toward business will be any different.

  3. I guess it's surprising that Charles Koch supports someone from the democratic party rather than someone from the republican party. Honestly, I wasn't really surprised because Hillary does receive big amounts of donations from various sources including large corporations. She has some economic policies that go against the Kochs, but whether Clinton keeps her promise or not is debatable. I agree with Anthony; I could see Clinton greatly influenced by the "dark money." Even if Clinton pushes her agenda, I feel like the changes would be minimal.
