If a tree falls in the forest

More than 1300 people have been arrested in Washington DC as part of the Democracy Spring protests.  See here for an update.

And see here for a list of organizations who support the movement.
If the protests are not widely reported in the media, does that mean they have little value?

  1. This is scary that makes me question if the US is indeed a democratic country. How can nonviolent protests be called "the largest American civil disobedience action of the 21st century?" Civil disobedience means "an active, professed refusal to obey certain laws, demands, and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power." What kind of US law are these protesters violating?
The fact that USA Today and Washington Post delivered headlines of arrests of two ice cream guys, not the key players of major organizations involved in the protest clearly shows that the US media is intentionally circumventing to give the right attention. Is the US media already bought by politics?

  2. I like Clare's point here. It just seems so weird to me that I still have seen nothing about this in the news unless I search for it specifically. I read USA Today on my phone every day and I have yet to see any headlines about this. It is definitely a cause for concern in my opinion.
