And inequality is not just a 1% vs 99% meme

THE median pay of American workers has stagnated in recent years, but that is not true for all workers. When adjusted for inflation, the wages of low-paid workers have declined. But the wages for better-paid workers have grown significantly more rapidly than inflation.

  1. This is going to continue to stretch the gap between the bottom and top, in terms of wealth inequality. Wage rates should increase by a set percentage for all employment when inflation rises.

  2. I agree with Jake, in that this will stretch the gap, and it is unfortunate that lower paid workers have seen their pay decrease. After being adjusted for inflation, wages should at the very least remain the same, and hopefully increase over time.

  3. I agree with jake and eric, the gap will stretch and the development gap between countries will expand as well.
