New SEC Chief Has Little Time

Here is an article about the new SEC chief being placed in a position where she must make strides towards an ample amount of cases before they reach their statue of limitations.

Dear SEC Chief, Clock is Running Out.

According to the article, Fannie and Freddie purchased billions of dollars worth of SunTrust mortgages. Do you think the responsibility should be placed only on SunTrust, or on both of them?

There are implications in the article that there was a loophole in Fannie Mae's system that would end up giving these skeptical loans they bought as fully documented. Considering this information and how big of a firm they were, do you believe they had more corporate responsibility than SunTrust?

  1. I think that the blame should be shared but yes, because of the size of Fannie I do believe that they have more corporate responsibility

  2. I believe that the responsibility should be mutually shared. Sun Trust and Fannie & Freddie both have obligations to handle the mortgages that have been accumulated. I do, however, believe that Fannie & Freddie had more of a corporate responsibility than Sun Trust.
