  1. I think that these political cartoons are entertaining for the public. This one in particular is interesting because the viewer can take away different reactions and emotions from it. My take is that Congress hasn't done anything with the gun law because our 401k and pension system is so unstable that by not doing anything with gun laws death rates should rise, limiting 401k's and retirement plans.

  2. I thought the baseball cartoon was pretty funny along with the gun law one. It's frightening how much politics have seem to go away from the people and greed has entered the framework for legislature. Sadly, Jake has a point.

  3. Having just recently seen the new Oz movie, I thought the cartoon on page 7 was quite hilarious. I also agree with Jake and Jared as far as the priorities of Congress go. I think gun regulation should be a higher priority.

  4. These political cartoons are pretty funny, and they're a good way of deflecting the seriousness of some of the issues facing our country (such as the gun control one). So like all my classmates ahead of me have said, we do need a solution as far as gun control laws, because the numbers of innocents getting killed/injured in our nation is unacceptable.

  5. I was not ready for #4, and then when i understood it, I did not find it funny, I just felt bad. Did anyone else think these were over the top. I guess the artist got the reaction he might have been looking for out of me.

  6. These cartoons are one of those things that you don't actually laugh at but comment "lol" anyway. I didn't think they were that funny but maybe the artist just don't appeal to my sense of humor.

  7. Too soon! The first six I found really sad and even a bit distasteful, especially number 4. When political gets made fun of its funny, when a bombing gets made fun of its just sad! I do see the humor in numbers 7 -12 as they do not pertain to the bombing in Boston. I am all for having fun, but would rather not see a national disaster be shed in that type of light.

Also I do not think gun control is the root of the problem, but rather mental/moral issues. If someone wants to a buy a gun, they will find one.
