Wow. If it works as advertised this would obviously be a huge step forward in numerous industries. I am somewhat skeptical of the functionality of the product itself, however, though admittedly this could be because it seems to good to be true. If it did work as advertised, I doubt the creators would be turning to Indiegogo for funding.
Also, if the creators continue to try to develop the product themselves, it will take years and years to get the product to market. This invention is too significant for society to wait that long. I think society as a whole would be better off if a large corporation or the government took over from here. Let's pour some more resources into developing this!...Again, assuming all they claim so far is true.
I agree, this sounds amazing! However am I missing a business plan detailing how the funded money will be allocated? I am trying to put the amount of funding they ask into context.
It's not a bad idea at all to do crowd funding because you get social awareness, support from the mass, while not having to compete aggressively for a grant, which is often much more difficult. Crowd funding can give them something to work with while getting money from elsewhere. I'm curious how far they will be from their goal when the campaign closes.
